Languages we speak
Of the approximately 7000 languages spoken worldwide, not all of them are of course requested by us. As is to be expected for a company based in Central Europe, most of our customers require translations from German into English or from English into German. Depending on the customer and target group, British or US English is preferred.
French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch follow in second place according to frequency. They are closely followed by some Slavic languages: Czech, Polish and Russian. We circumnavigate the globe with Chinese (Mandarin) and come back to Eastern Europe: Slovak, Romanian, Hungarian, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Slovenian.
Scandinavian languages are a little less in demand: Danish, Swedish and Norwegian (Bokmål), and occasionally Finnish (strictly speaking not a Scandinavian language). Turkish and Greek are roughly on a par with the Scandinavians. Arabic, Japanese and Korean round off the more commonly used languages.
